The future of DITA is here
Presentation Abstract
At JustSystems we are continually striving to stay at the forefront of the structured authoring community. In March 2015 we became the first major authoring tool to include specific support for DITA 1.3 features. In this Demo Jam we’ll show you the future of DITA authoring with a peek at upcoming 1.3 features and how it will look to work with them in the world’s best XML editor.
What can attendees expect to learn?
This session will acquaint you with the latest new features available in XMetaL Author Enterprise. Foremost on this list is our support for DITA 1.3, which, hopefully, by the time we are all together in St. Petersburg, will be going through the final, formal ratification process as an OASIS standard. XMetaL introduced advanced authoring support for DITA 1.3 back in March, the first major authoring tool to do so. If time permits, we’ll show you some of the spiffy new not-just-for-DITA features, too!
Meet the Presenter
Tom Magliery’s nondescript job title is XML Technology Specialist, which means for 13 lucky years with XMetaL he has gotten away with doing pretty much anything: sales engineering, professional services, consulting, training, webinars, product management, design, graphics, documentation, and–most importantly–keeping the kitchen stocked with varyingly unhealthy snacks from Costco. Apart from fooling around with XMetaL he also hangs out weekly with the fine folks on the DITA TC, pursuing a standards-committee habit he picked up way back in the mid-1990s with HTML 2.
