Meet the Presenter
A 20-year veteran in the field of technical writing, Kerwin has worked for the last 13 years within the product support department of John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa. With Deere, he has held positions of technical author, diagnostic author. He is now a supervisor for service information operations, which is a catch-all position that includes oversight of publishing, translation, project management, quality measurement, and document standards.
Prior to joining Deere, his writing experience spanned the gamut from hydraulic dredging equipment, medical instrumentation, to shipping software. He received a B.A. in History and Mathematics from Luther College (Decorah, IA) and an M.A. in Public History from St. Cloud State University (St. Cloud, MN).
Outside of work, Kerwin and his family reside on a small farm in Southwest Wisconsin, where he keeps busy with field work, farm equipment, and home restoration projects.
